| Subject: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist) Mon Jul 20, 2009 8:02 pm | | | Hmmm... so I guess not so many people appreciate this anime (I'm guessing because it's partly related to science???), but honestly speaking, Fullmetal Alchemist is my most favorite anime ever! (I think this must be the reason why I'm not updated with the latest animes anymore). That's why I decided to post this topic... Is there a Fullmetal Alchemist fan around here??? Let's talk about Hagane no Renkinjutsushi and why it's a great anime to watch... pleeease... XD Hi there! Nice meeting ya!^_^ | |

I think almost 90% of otakus who have seen this anime LOVED it! XD (or so I think...) Even my mom watches FMA. Yeah, my MOM. o_o FMA: Brotherhood follows more on the manga storyline and is more action packed. However, it lacks drama unlike in the first FMA series (especially during the Nina episode... the FMA series made me cry, but Brotherhood seems to have rushed it a bit, losing the drama) But they're both awesome nonetheless! I love both series.

I agree with kuchikirukia. FMA is a really famous anime. There are tons of people who appreciate it! (me included. ) I also agree with FMA brotherhood being more action packed while the first FMA had more drama. One scene though that remained dramatic for both was... - Spoiler:

If that's true, then that means they're gonna have to cram the 50+ eps into just 13 eps? o_o Then again, they're following the manga so the plot may vary. Agh I dunno, I just wanna watch it when it's finished but I can't coz of schoooooool! >_> @spoiler Yes, that will never be un-dramatic! (is that even a word? XD) Hughes will remain in our hearts forever. @SaiKyou Haha I brainwashed her into watching anime! She's now addicted to Bleach, FMA, and Gunslinger Girl. XD

| Subject: Re: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist) Wed Jul 22, 2009 6:40 am | | | ... wow, I'd like my mom to watch anime, too. I'm actually a 'new' fan of FMA. I think I started last year or this year (not sure). I like the series because the plot's well-done - I'm talking about the first FMA, btw. I have no plans of watching Brotherhood since I've started on the manga already. I've also recently watched CoS which was very good *A* German!Al!!! sob Ed would be my favorite character, followed by Roy <3 lelouch@ Actually, Armstrong > everyone XD Just kidding, haha. But seriously... I think they would all eventually succumb to him muscular shiny awesomeness someday (or stop whatever they're doing because sometimes he can get really damn annoying) -- I think he's adorable, though... kind of? But I do agree that Roy is awesome, especially during the movie. The eyepatch and the sudden comeback... so cool *A* | |

Owh... okay... so my guess was totally wrong?! YAHOO!!! Anyway, you're right about the 'remake' *slash* FMA Brotherhood following the manga storyline. I've watched a couple episodes but due to my lack of 'resources', I can't tune in to the new series... FMA is LUUUUUV!!! I most especially like Alphonse, followed by Roy (he's so kakoiii!!!) and then Mei-chan (who makes her first appearance in FMA Brotherhood: Ep 15)... By the way, is anyone here a fan of RoyxRiza pairing??? In my opinion, they look good with each other. I love this one part in the manga when Hughes told Roy something like, "Don't worry, we have the HAWK'S EYE watching on us..." Weee!!! ^_^ Can't wait for the ending!!!!

I like Roy/Risa. I think there was a part when Winry asked Risa about her being in the military, and Risa said that she's there to protect someone important to her, and that she won't hold back pulling the trigger if it's for that person? 8D Ed/Win is my het OTP though... then again, I don't ship them MAINLY especially after watching the movie (CoS).

| Subject: Kyahhhh~ Thu Jul 23, 2009 3:30 pm | | | Okay, so I only logged in today and saw this post. I was like 'Wow, FMA fans!' I'm also one. Highly addicted to it, actually. It's my second after Rurouni Kenshin. And kuchikirukia already mentioned this, but i'll say it again, 90% watched FMA and loved it! Fullmetal Alchemist is a great anime and manga in so many reasons. Episode 16 of FMA Brotherhood is the latest episode. You can watch it at animeseason.com - I'm loving this version than the first one since it follows the manga (completely awesome!). You can also watch it on animax this Friday (8pm - previous episode; 8:30pm -latest episode). EdWin fans out there? :3 | |

I like RoyxRisa too. But like you, EdWin is OTP. XD And agh, now that you mentioned CoS, I find it cool while watching and then I completely took it back when Ed started saying this crap about going back to the other world (AGH SPOILERS). I hated it. Ack.

My OTP (for real - since EdWin is just my het OTP) is really Ed/Al. Well, actually, it's Ed/German!Al but then, you know what happened to German!Al (GOD That was the most depressing thing I've ever seen in that whole movie.) T__T I love their bond, so I guess I was satisfied with how it ended... Hopefully, Winry would find a way to get to the world on the other side of the gate find her own happy ending. /cheese

I hate her being with Ed... it's just... something's not right(???) whenever they're having moments together... I sound sooo bad,,, peace us! ^_^v

| Subject: Oooohhhh. Wed Jul 29, 2009 9:50 pm | | | @NEKO11LOVER Ah, so you're an Ed/German!Al fan. (yes, it was depressing. DEPRESSINNGGG, mygawd.) I'm not an actual shounen-ai/yaoi fan, I can tolerate it though. (Don't sure me, yaoi fans!) I support canon pairings (well, almost all) in the anime and manga world anyway. The movie was good and all, I was just not satisfied. Aaaaaa. I do love the Bromance. But only until there. ;P And yes, I hope that windry finds her happy ending too. /more cheese. @SHIHARU1217 Peace us. I'm still supporting EdWin(all the way)~~ It's our perspectives anyway. And people I meet in other forums who doesn't support Edwin has the same reason: They like them being childhood friends and all, but they just can't seem to see them end up together. (Atleast, that's what they reasoned out.) | |

TAKADA-SAN@ -nods- In the movie, definitely. In the manga, I don't really ship anything hard, though I like Ed/Al and Roy/Maes a lot plus the other het pairings (Lin/Ran, Roy/Risa, Ed/Win). That's alright, yaoi isn't for everybody, y/y? 8D [--] AH YES SPEAKING OF. MAES ;___; One of the saddest things that ever happened, both in the manga and in the anime. I cried both times, poor Roy. Has anyone watched the specials? Like the chibi-FMA after movie party and Fullmetal Alchemist: Kids? The FMA chibi is pretty much crack and cute!fanservice, but the FMA: Kids take on a much deeper theme, considering that it's a 3-minute special on Edward and his grandkids in 2005. It's nice. (Both are available on Youtube for those who haven't watched that yet)

I thought they're Al's grandkids...() and they're just visiting their other grandfather... XD i'm confused!!! BTW Kid Roy looks so cuuuuute (Uberly cute)! hmm.. I wonder what happened to Winry back in Shamballa as Ed celebrates his 100th birthday ()

I didn't consider them being Al's. I was thinking that maybe Ed ended up with Germany!Winry or something, lol, but it's strange that they look like Ed and Al (could it be...?! LOL nah, jk) I wonder that, too. Maybe she's dead? Cause reaching 100 is a very... rare thing. Or maybe she's like her Aunt Pinako, living a quiet, single life as an automail mechanic? I'm guessing that she never married, though...
