- Players can pick up NBA 2K25 for PC and consoles when it releases on September 6.
The NBA 2K series has seen some controversy over the past few entries, but the publisher has won back a portion of the fandom by returning the Auction House to NBA 2K25. Due to launch on September 6, NBA 2K25 is confirmed to feature the popular player-controlled Auction House after its removal from the last game drew backlash from the community.
The latest game in the series was announced back in July, and the All-Star Edition features the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces on the cover. Marketing for the game didn’t get off to a good start when NBA 2K25 followers were disappointed with the lack of new features, but the return of the popular MyTeam feature may help restore the balance.

NBA 2K25 announcing an inclusion of FIBA international and Olympic team rosters will add some fun variety to this year's game.
During an NBA 2K25 MyTeam Courtside Report video on YouTube, it was officially announced that the Auction House would be returning, alongside all-new game modes. It was also noted that the menus would be more “compact” and “streamlined” to turn the feature into the ultimate hub for buying and selling player cards. Furthermore, the devs stated they had “a zero-tolerance policy on activity detrimental to the health of the mode,” confirming they would go the extra mile to fortify the market against players trading currency.
NBA 2K25 Confirms MyTeam Auction House's Return
2K removed the Auction House from NBA 2K24, which immediately aggravated the community. Removing this feature invited a pay-to-win mentality into the player pool, as it gave the developers complete control over the price of player cards. Unlike Diablo 3’s disastrous Auction House, NBA 2K’s version was beloved by the player base, and fans made sure the publisher knew that it was a costly mistake to remove it.
Joining the returning Auction House, NBA 2K25’s MyTeam will add a remastered version of NBA 2K16’s Rivet City Championships MyPark titled Triple Threat Park. For players looking for entertainment offline, Breakout Mode repurposes single-player elements into a board game mode, with Triple Threat 3v3, Clutch Time 5v5, and shortened 13-card Full Lineup games to choose from. Lastly, NBA 2K25 has changed the badge system by adding new badges and strengthening progression, which will combat some of the backlash around the series' stale content.
The latest addition to the franchise will be coming to current-gen and last-gen consoles in September, the same month as EA Sports FC 25. NBA 2K25 has four editions up for pre-order, and from the Standard Edition to the Hall of Fame Edition, players can choose which version best suits their style, as each comes with a host of different benefits and add-ons.
